Grand Rapids, MI -- After making final cuts and moving on with the beginning of the season, the Huskies began to flash spurts of talent. Sophomores Brett Bujdos, Michael Gumbko, and James Ruotsala give the team youth, as well as a healthy dose of talent. Returning players, like seniors Ben Edwards and Jackson Shaver, give the team talent and leadership. The Huskies opened the season with a doubleheader against East Grand Rapids on March 28. Although two losses were the outcome, head coach John Dolce was very happy with their performance. "We did a lot of things right, but by no means are we perfect." The Huskies have a busy schedule in front of them and will be facing tough opponents like the Falcons of West Catholic and the Rangers of district rival Forest Hills Central. We expect the Huskies to make a run deep into the playoffs, behind a strong starting pitching staff and a solid defense.
